CfP: "4th Social Policy Research Conference"

We would like to invite you to the upcoming Research Conference of ESPAnet Austria ‐ the network of social policy researchers in Austria. Although social policy issues feature strongly in the public discourse, scientific exchange based on research and analysis could still be strengthened. Social policy research in Austria is a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary field that deals with a broad range of topics from different disciplines using different theoretical and methodological perspectives. ESPAnet Austria’s research conferences contribute to deepening the scientific discourse and improving the exchange across disciplinary, theoretical and methodological differences.

CfP: "Politik der Nachhaltigkeit: Subjekt – Macht – Kritik" (SuN)

Der Begriff Nachhaltigkeit hat immer auch einen politisch-normativen Charakter. Sein gegenwärtiges Verständnis wurde wesentlich durch die internationale Politik und soziale Bewegungen geformt, popularisiert und mitunter auch bekämpft. So wurde etwa mit den Sustainable Development Goals ein politischer Zielhorizont etabliert, der den vielfältigen Krisen der Gegenwart ein politisches Projekt von nie gesehener Tragweite entgegenstellt: die Transformation der kapitalistisch-industriellen Lebensweise hin zu einer ökologisch-gerechten Form der Weltgesellschaft. Neben solch globalen und internationalen Nachhaltigkeitspolitiken sind aber auch nationale und lokale Nachhaltigkeitsprogramme ubiquitär und ebenfalls engagiert sich eine Vielzahl nicht-staatlicher Organisationen und Initiativen in sozial-ökologischen Fragen. Das genuin Politische am Handlungsprinzip Nachhaltigkeit lässt sich dabei bis in die Mikropolitiken der Lebensführung, die politischen Identitäten oder die Sozialisationsprozesse der Subjekte hinein verfolgen.

Research Across Boundaries: Challenges of Interdisciplinary Work in the Context of Law
Submission
Interested participants should submit the following information to rewi.kontakt@uni-graz.at

title of the paper,
thematic area the paper belongs to,
an abstract of no more than 500 words,
author name, affiliation and biographical details,
contact details.

Deadline for submission is 30^th October 2020. All abstracts will be reviewed by the organisational committee and selections announced by 15^th December 2020. Formal registration for the conference will be possible from 15^th March 2021. Working language will be English. Accepted papers will be published in the Austrian Law Journal’s Summer edition (presupposing a positive outcome of the peer review process).
